  1. The Speedy Moving Yoke.
  2. Hi Yves Thanks for your reply. I recieved a translated version this afternoon with a contact for the house tech so I should be sorted. Cheers
  3. Hi all, have any of you guys based in the Netherlands done a gig in "De Stoelemat" in Bergen op Zoom. I am doing a show there in August and was wondering if any one knows what the house lighting rig is like. I have been sent a spec of sorts, half in Eglish and half in Dutch. It seems to be mostly generics. Any info welcome.
  4. Hi Paul, I will send it back to our dealer Aquarius and get their tech to checkit out. Thanks. Jazzy.
  5. Hi, I was rigging and programming for a show yesterday in a Church we do some work for and when I pluged in our DMX line on Output A and their's into Output B I found I had no control of their Dimmers or fixtures. I then noticed that the LED on Output B was not on. Now I know that they are in parallel and my dimmers and movers were working and everything adressed right so I swapped lines and now I had control of everything. I swapped them back and only control of my stuff. I swapped back and did what i needed to do and all seems to be alright, although the Led on Output B is still out. Any ideas?

    UDK / UDF function

Hi K Nine, This is a very handy feature indeed for busking. If you put an effect, say a figure 8 doing a ballyhoo instead of a sceen / cue on the UDK will it still revert to the previous cue outputs or will the LTP output of the shape generator over ride it.
  7. Hi all, I down loaded the Frog 2 manuel and have read through it, so far I am very impressed. I have one question though about the way the UDK / UDF work. If for instance I had a rig with say 60 par cans and 20 movers and I have a sceen (cue) using all of these set for a certain song but there are a number of accents in the song that I want to highlight, say a drum fill, by having 6 of the movers swing on to the kit and strobe. I have my main cue running on a play back stack or sub, UDK or UDF and I have my accent on a UDK set to flash, so I press the UDK the 6movers go to the kit and strobe. When I release the UDK will the 6 movers revert back to the previous out put in the cue I am running or will the just stay strobing on the kit.
  8. Hi all, Not sure if this is a bug or the desk developing a fault but my Fat Frog went out on hire last week and I got a call to say that the desk was freezing on startup. The guy who hired it owns a Fat Frog as well and needed a second one for another job. He said it worked fine when he got it, that he loaded his show from a disk and modified it to suit, everything was ok so he turned off the desk and went home. He came back the next morning to start rehersals and the desk would'nt bootup,it would either freeze at the very start and say "Searching for upgrade" or go as far as "Show loading" or "Running". He broght the desk back and when I fired it up it loaded first time. I then powered it down and back up again and this time it froze as he described. I then tried this several times and sometimes it booted up ok and sometimes it froze, the next time it booted properley I cleared everything and reset to default. After this it worked ok everytime so far. Is it possible that something on his disk corrupted the OS or something. The OS on my Fat Frog is 9.6 ( so is his) but it is one of the first Fat Frogs ie. no screen driver or keyboard input or group button.Any Ideas?
  9. Hi, Use a key board and type in the memory number you want and hit "enter" and you go straight to that memory, cant get much faster than that!
  10. Hi K-Nine, No I used the colour pallets alright as the colour changed to the right one. I done the same show tonight and no problems must have been a bit of a glitch. Rebooting the desk today must have cleared it. Cheers.
  11. Hi all, Not sure if this is a bug or my mistake but last night i was doing a show and when i used the colour pallets live, busking on some of the numbers they knocked out the gobo ( to open) that had been programmed into that particular memory. The other thing is this did not happen every time which seems even more odd. The desk is in partial mode and the fixtures were Mac 250s. Any ideas?
  12. Hi all, To me the difference between a shutter chase and a dimmer chase is purely the effect although this can differ with some fixtures. Dimmer chases are nice because you can vary the amount of xfade between lamps and mixing this with a shape can give some very nice effects and I have even found that with with some fixtures (MAC 250s) for one, with the right focus and conditions you can simulate an iris chase effect. However if you want a fast harsh accent for a metal track or dance, the shutter chase is the way to go. I've noticed that MACs, Robes and GLP Ypocs and probably any fixtures that have preprogrammed dimmer curves have a perceptible fade up and down like a halogen lamp even at fast chase speeds if you use a dimmer chase, so you really need to use the shutter to get that hard strobe on / off effect. What are the chances of a "dimmer chase" generator for the Frogs? Just a thought!
  13. Hi all, I've just picked up a couple of the first model Betapacks that need a bit of attention. I was wondering if spare parts for them are still available, mainly the rack mounting wings and fuse holders also the module with the induction coil ( one of them has been silicon glued together). Cheers.
  14. Hi all, I was looking at a niffty little LCD TV the other day with a 7" x 4" screen, it had a couple of different inputs one being an S Video. I was wondering if I got a VGA to S Video adaptor if it would work with a Leap or Fat Frog display output? Has anyone tried this?
  15. Hi all, I had exactly the same problem upgrading to OS 9.6 from 9.2 on both our Fat Frog and Leap Frogs and no amount of formating or old or new disks combinations seemed to work. ZW88 emailed me a copy or version of the software and that eventualy loaded on to the Leap Frogs after several attempts but the the Fat Frog which is one of the first models was not having any of it eventualy I tried loading an earlier version OS 7.5 and this loaded first time, then I tried loading 9.6 and in it went no problem. So you may want to try loading an earlier OS and then try 9.6
  16. Hi Gary, Its a bug in the software release 9.2 so upgrade to 9.6 to cure that problem. The thing is Release 9.6 also has a bug which causes subs that have been programmed either with or without times to revert to the default memory fade up/down times after the desk reloads the show from flash memory. Its not a major problem just one to keep an eye on ,(unless you discover it 2 minutes before the show starts ). Just reload you memories onto the subs as you want them and everything is ok.Although if you have recorded your scenes straight to subs as channel data, I am not to sure how that pans out.
  17. Cheers! I should have thought of that. I will try it out this afternoon.
  18. Hi all; I was just playing about with the idea of using a 1 shot chase to do an end of song or set salute ie. Step 1 - All flown movers pointing straight down and all floor movers pointing straight up, dimmer 100% + selected gobo Step 2 - Tilt all movers straight out into audience. Step 3 - Dimmer to 0% on all movers. Set modifiers to 1 shot, and speed slowish. The thing is when I put this on a sub and run it ( even when I push up the fader a little to trigger the LTP) there seems to be a 3 to 4second lag between step 1 and 2, that is between the HTP of the dimmer reaching 100% and the lamps moving to the next position. Anyone got any ideas how to overcome this as it makes executing the effect on time a bit tricky.
  19. I think this would only work if the desk had dedicated RUN and PROGRAM Modes like the Sirius 24 /48 as how would you be able to get to unprogramed memories if you had no keyboard?
  20. Hi, About the default times appearing being memory times as opposed to sub times you are most likely right. As for changing the desk setup I presume you mean entering Superuser altering something and then saving changes when exiting Superuser. The thing is I loaded OS 9.6 ( which I had trouble with, see earlier posting " OS wont upgrade") entered superuser setup all the desk defalts and stuff, assigned the fixtures, saved changes and exited superuser. The desk went out on this current show the very next day, I programmed it and opped it myself and as I said the only mods since are to the position palettes to suit different venues.I have made no changes to the desk setup since. Dose altering the Position palettes cause the desk to save the show to flash memory? But the fact that I have altered them about ten times but only experienced this problem once is odd. Is it possibly something else or dose the desk automaticaly save to flash after a certain amount of power cycles?
  21. Strange one, I'll keep an eye out for it until there is a patch for it. Cheers.
  22. Hi all, I fired up the desk yesterday afternoon cycling it on and off about 10 times and everything stayed fine. A one off glitch perhaps? Good job I checked it a couple of hours before the show. Yes 'tis I Gary!
  23. No I only Named the Subs not the individual memories, so that explains that. I had a feeling that might be the case.
  24. Pretty much except that the subs were running the full 3 second up down times and all the Fade Up / Fade Down fields on the LCD and monitor had changed from 00.00.0----00.00.0 To 00.03.0-------00.03.0 for the subs that had been transferred with "Transfer with No Time" and any subs that had modified times ie, UP 00.10.0- Down 00.04 reverted to 00.03.0. As I said I have run this show about ten times over the the last 3/4 weeks with no problems. It is the original show, that is I havent reloaded it from disk and the desk has not been used for anything else. The only mods are position palettes for different venues.
